Bring Back Extra Curricular Time to CHHS
Bring Back Extra Curricular Time to CHHS
Why this petition matters
Since the beginning of this school year (2021-2022), the daily schedule has changed several times. It is necessary to student excellence for there to be time set aside for clubs and extra curricular activities, whether the reasoning be college application, mental health, or requirement for a class. This club and extra curricular time has been embedded during the school day for years up until the COVID-19 outbreak, but when the schedule for this year was introduced, all clubs were entirely cut out. For a brief time, Flextime was introduced to allow for club and tutorial time, but was taken away after only two weeks due to complete under-preparation. There is now only time for clubs and extra curricular activities on one day.
This lack of extra curricular time is devastating to the students, especially those who are part of more than one club or commitment. This may affect college applications, class commitments (such as FFA to Agricultural Sciences), and student social involvement. Time should be set aside, whether during school hours or not, in which students can participate in clubs, tutoring, or school organizations. Bring back extra curricular activity time to Corinth Holders High School.
