Stop the Hove Level Crossing Removal

We are calling on Mr Corey Wingard the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Member for Gibson to immediately stop all planning/works relating to the Hove Level Crossing Removal.

This project is ill-conceived, offers no benefits to local residents and has the potential to compromise the safety of citizens due to the increased usage of Brighton Road.

The removal of the crossing will have the following detrimental effects on the community:

  • Increase of vehicular usage thus compromising the safety of all users including young children and families accessing the numerous schools, child care centres and learning centres and the general  population especially the elderly going about their everyday business on Brighton Road
  • Increase congestion and create egress and ingress issues for local commuters
  • Destroy the residential and high street character of the area
  • Disastrous environmental impact on the area including  voluminous and intense noise events (e.g., increased traffic), range of pollutants and emissions which will have a devastating effect on the general health and quality of life of the citizens and destroy the tranquillity, liveability and ambience currently provided by its environs
  • Potential to severely reduce the valuation of your tangible (property) and intangible assets

We implore you to listen to us and immediately stop all planning/works relating to the Hove Level Crossing Removal.

Please sign and share this petition and send a clear message to Mr Corey Wingard, The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and the local Member for Gibson.
