I am advocating for bottled water to be banned because it is harmful to the environment. We should change how many plastic bottles you buy in order to make it better. 80% of plastic bottles we use end up in landfills and it takes over 1,000 years for one plastic water bottle to decompose mean while in that time it takes to decompose it is bad for our environment and is killing sea life. Plastic water bottles are bad for are ocean because it has a deadly effect on wildlife. Every year thousands of seabirds, sea turtles, seals, and a bunch of other marine animals are killed by eating the plastic or getting tangled in the plastic.

Plastic water bottles can affect are environment because the process of making plastic bottles of water releases a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year since 1947. Since it releases carbon dioxide the surrounding area, the oxygen becomes contaminated and it makes it harder for some people to breath.

Bottled water is also bad for you because of all the chemicals in it and is known to increase cancer. You can stop using Plastic water bottles by, simply just carrying your own reusable water bottle with you that is good for the environment like stainless steel, glass, or a safe aluminium. If you use a reusable bottle then you will save about $200 a year, by doing this you will be saving money and keeping the Earth safe.
