Conwy County Borough Council: Lift the dog control order from Cae Llan (Betws-y-Coed village green)
On the weekend of 10th November 2012, notices around Cae Llan (the village green), were put up declaring that the marked football pitch is now subject to a Conwy Council dog control order. This means that there are now no open spaces to safely and easily walk your dogs off their lead anywhere in Betws-y-Coed. This may particularly cause issues for the elderly or those with limited mobility, as Cae Llan is the only level, easily accessible area in Betws. Furthermore, parts of the remaining area have been severely damaged by football being played outside of the marked area. This reduces even more, the area available to dog walkers.
