A Decade Lost......
After being held in the cook county department of corrections for 2 years awaiting trial for 1st degree murder & 3 attempted 1st degree murders i was convicted on July 6th 2012. The Honorable Judge James L. Rhodes convicted me for 1st degree murder & 3 aggravated discharges of a firearm under a theory of accountability but i was not charged or tried with aiding & abetting someone in 1st degree murder i was charged & tried for personally discharging the firearm that caused the death of Adam Martinez, the young man who unfortunately lost his life on may 12th 2010. The 4th & 14th amendment states that every U.S. citizen has the right to Due process which includes the right to a fair trial & when the Judge convicted me under a theory that the state never pursued or presented & that i never had the opportunity to defend myself against, he violated those rights. For the past 9 years since i was convicted I’ve been pleading with the courts to reverse my conviction based on that clear constitutional violation but have continuously been denied. So now I’m asking you all to sign this petition & help me encourage the Conviction Integrity Unit for the states attorney's office to investigate my wrongful conviction claim & recommend to the states attorney Ms. Kim Foxx, that she file a motion to dismiss my conviction & end my decade long illegal detention..... Thank you all for the love & support.....
