Through Any Body Can Dance Respin (ABCDR) project, we met group of women in our neighbouhood, who were interested in different types of dances, we all came together and practiced different types of dances under Jane Alliance Neighbourhood Services roof. During this time, most of us found a good friend, learned a new type of dance that made us feel confident and empower. We got to know about different cultural dance and the meaning behind, that sometimes it’s very similar in different cultural. We shared a wonderful time and became friend. We shared our cultural food through potluck party and started sharing recipes with each other. It was the only entertainment time for most of us. Getting out of home twice a week for a physical activity really boost our moral and motivated us to be healthy and confident, and moreover building a connection and having someone to talk with kept us mentally on checked.
