Stop commercial zoning of Crownsville Hospital for non-profit community services and park

Crownsville, Md, specifically Crownsville State Hospital grounds, has always been zoned rural/agricultural as we have sought to maintain our historical, cultural and environmental/ecological integrity.

Now the property which sits upon and borders our watersheds is being threatened by commercial developers who propose to build a sprawling sports village consisting of an indoor and outdoor stadium, twenty-four football-sized athletic fields and parking lots to accomodate many thousands of visitors annually.

The proposal will overwhelm the three-hundred-year-old rural and historical character of Crownsville,  impede traffic flow, and permanently threaten the ecosystem of wildlife habitat, and fragile watersheds upon which the Crownsville Hospital grounds sit.
