Allow the Right for Head Attire to be Worn without Religious Reasoning in Ohio Schools
Why this petition matters

Minority, marginalized and colored students in Ohio's academic places should be allowed the right to their choice of head attire for cultural, traditional, historical, ancestral, decorative, and hair maintenance choices. This excludes beanies, caps, bandanas, and hoodies; as those are safety risks in all areas for identification and gang violence reasons.
This includes durags, wave caps, headdresses, hair scarves/ wraps, and turbans. When our ancestors were brought here as slaves on boats they left everything behind, although the main thing they were usually allowed to bring was their head attire. Granted, inequality for women and men of color to show their natural hair is deemed unprofessional in many areas of America, headscarves were used as another way to oppress our natural beauty.
We are taking that use of oppression away and using it to embrace our history and the strength that our ancestors have given to us. We are using this to embrace our resilience as minorities in America, we are indulging in our history, we are expressing a culture that we refuse to let this nation break away from us again. This is a basic human right, we deserve this right to be allowed to wear our choice of head attire in schools across the Ohio Educational Board.
