It is observed that in spite of fixed rates of the Government for treatment of Covid19 patients in private hospitals, the daily and final bills are far in excess of the approved rates/charges.

I suggest that the government should necessarily check and approve the bills to be paid and that the final bill be sent to the patient directly and any disputes by the private hospitals will then be between the Govt and the hospital. The patient will get a fair bill as approved by the Government.

This can be on the lines of health insurance claim approvals by insurance companies

This way excess billing and corruption will be avoided and the government can be held responsible for any discrepancies thereto.

If this is implemented by all States and Union Territories..all patients will get a lot of relief from getting fleeced especially during such troubled times.

Besides this the Government's cannot say that it is unaware of such fleecing or that nobody has complained of any such incident.
