Stop Showing of Bestiality Film, “Donkey Love”, at Okanagan Film Festival

Like all innocent sentient beings, animals deserve to be protected from exploitation. Unfortunately, the Okanagan Film Festival has decided to show a documentary called “Donkey Love” in Kelowna, B.C., on October 13, 2012. This documentary was filmed in Colombia where "...the practice of men having sex with donkeys is not uncommon. According to the film, the practice is taught in schools and is even handed down from father to son" (

A modern, civilized community must not promote the sexual exploitation of animals. Furthermore, bestiality is a violation of the Canadian Criminal Code, Sec. 160 (1-3). It is also a violation to commit bestiality in the presence of and/or to incite a person under 14 years of age to engage in it.

The showing of Donkey Love must not be permitted in Kelowna or anywhere in Canada.
