We become aware that Consulate General of India Sydney office has made a special rule for NSW residence ONLY to have their documents attested by Public Notary instead of JP NSW. We understand public notary works during normal business hours during week days and charge their client anywhere from $80-$120. This CGI Sydney office decision is not in favour of Indian community as community will require to pay extra money to public notary on top of VFS/Consulate fee and top of it we mandatorily have to take day off for attestation of documents. This text is request consulate sydney office to review their decision. The consulate paperwork and application system are already complicated, please do not make it more difficult and complicated for all of us! CGI Sydney should allow more authorised personal appointed by Australian government authority to witness document other than JP (like Doctor, Pharmacist, Postal manager etc) who are able to provide their service at free of cost. This text is express my objection as an individual being Indian citizen (NRI) in democratic way.
