Construction Haulers need Fuel Relief Now!

Per eia.gov "California No 2 Diesel Ultra Low Sulfur Retail Price":

2018 $3.87 per gallon 2019 $3.97 per gallon 2020 $3.37 per gallon

2021 $4.16 per gallon

TODAY (6/7/22) $6.83 per gallon

This price volatility is unprecedentedly extraordinary.

Construction Waste Haulers are the predominant means of transportation for all Construction Waste hauled in California.

-There is currently no legal avenue for a Public Works Agency (Such as Cal Trans or Metro) to compensate a Trucker for additional fuel costs for projects that were bid prior to the Unprecedented and Extra-ordinary Increase in the Price of Diesel Fuel. It has been determined this is "Price Volatility" and not Force Majeure.

We are asking the State to Immediately Establish and Implement a "legal avenue" wherein the Public Works Agency can compensate the Trucker AFTER BID TIME FOR UNPRECEDENTED FUEL VOLATILITY  on projects paid for or financed partly or wholly by the State of California.

-There is currently no MANDATE that any Fuel Escalation Factor received by a Contractor or Subcontractor be passed down to the actual Truck Owner - the one impacted by the price of Diesel Fuel.

We are asking the State to Immediately MANDATE all Fuel Surcharges and Fuel Escalation be paid to the Registered Truck Owner Working on the Public Works Projects paid for or financed partly or wholly by the State of California.

Use this to help us and protect the Small businesses, the small Truckers who move 95% of all Construction Waste in Southern California.

We are the backbone of California. We need your help NOW in the form of this IMMEDIATE RELIEF.
