TO: The City Of Tshwane Municipality (Ward 98)

The neighbourhood of Clarina, in the Akasia region experiences dire criminal activities on a daily basis. This affects the residents' comfortability in their own homes. There is public unease in our neighbourhood. 

This crime issue needs to be tackled as a matter of urgency, therefore, a constructive solution has been raised within the neighbourhood to restore our safety.

Our neighbourhood as two entrances, both being on the main Theron Street. One entrance being at Villa Clari Estate, and the other being at Platinum Park Estate. The sensible solution is to limit access to and from one entrance, being that on the side of Platinum Park Estate. This will be done by means of putting a boundary palisade fencing and access gate, preferably the industrial type. 

Amongst many safety reasons for this solution, some are:

• Control of vehicles entering our neighbourhood: Non-resident vehicles will be promptly noted.
• Control of people coming from neighbouring suburbs to "chill, drink and smoke" in our neighbourhood park: This is how criminals scout and explore the neighbourhood and households' movements.
• Should a resident alert the neighbourhood through our WhatsApp group and/ or other communication platforms of a break-in or suspected criminal activity, the suspects will be easily apprehended as they will have no choice but to use the one-way out as the other side will be blocked and monitored.

We, the undersigned residents of Clarina petition to submit the above resolution, in accordance with the Local Authority Notice 1992 of 2015 to the City Of Tshwane Municipality and Council of Ward 98.
