Kristen Grant started this petition to Construction Field contractors

In the city of Boston, as we all deal with the Covid19 pandemic only some areas of the construction field are being allowed to work. This includes any construction that is actively building public housing. Roofing, frame work, siding, windows, doors, gutters, rough construction are all on hold. Most construction related crews are within groups, typically 3-8 crew members. These jobs do not require indoor or direct contact with anyone else such as home and business owners or occupants.   These are outdoor jobs with little risk of contracting or spreading coronavirus if diligently wearing face coverings and practicing safe hand sanitizing procedures.

As the weather begins to be suitable for such work,  adding in the fact that many of these hard working construction employees, earn more during these months making their 4 quarters of earnings for unemployment seemingly lower, they are bringing in less money with unemployment than they would be working.

If you or a loved one works in these industries then you understand the importance of earning during the warmer months. You also understand these positions are almost always with the same small crew, not encountering the public in a one on one basis, making the risks lower than many "essential work". Please help get our loved ones back to work by signing this petition

! We need to pay our bills, feed our children, and continue to thrive just as much as those construction employees working on public housing , and we can be just as safe.
