South Africans got democracy in 1994 and even then if took a previously disadvantaged South African years to make it in business. The government helped by introducing 30% and 80/20 procurement system that help the black owned companies. Now the court judgment with Afrobusiness seek to remove what the government has done to assist the previously disadvantaged before 1994 in the South African economy. Most of our companies as the previously disadvantaged are potential emerging companies which makes it even more difficult to compete fairly with the previously advantaged business and with this BEE status it makes it easier to compete. We ask the court to give the previously disadvantaged a platform to fight for this court judgment and suspending all tenders is killing the only source of income many of our families get fed on.
