Red Alert! Janvrin school children in danger!

Patrick Freeley Lane, near Janvrin School, has been used a safe walkway for the school children and pedestrians accessing the pedestrian crossing on Rouge Bouillon for the past 25 + years.
The Parish of St Helier intends to open this lane to traffic. If opened it will become a 'rat run'.
The narrow roads in this area are at saturation point with vehicles accessing the school, College Gardens building site and potential Dandara development at Maison de Ville. If this development is approved there will be FOUR entrances within close proximity on a short stretch of road which will be dangerous for children crossing to and from school.
At busy times the area is dangerous with cars mounting the pavement to reach the top of La Pouquelaye.
Safety of children is paramount after the recent fatal accident at Millenium Park.
Patrick Freeley Lane should be pedestrianised so children and parents can walk safely to and from school away from heavy traffic on La Pouquelaye.
The lane currently offers access for residents only - this should be retained.
Please help us keep Janvrin School children safe by signing the petition to keep Patrick Freeley Lane for pedestrians and access for residents only.
