ban trophy hunting of rare animals in Africa

Trophy hunting has killed millions of animals in just the last decade, including many that are rare or endangered. Elephants and lions are some of the main targets of trophy hunting, and populations of these animals are steadily declining. Banning trophy hunting would would help animal populations and the environment. Trophy hunting is brutal and unnecessary, and claims that it helps conservation and local communities are false. The killing of animals will never be a sustainable source of conservation, and less than 3% of the revenue from hunting actually goes to local communities. The story of Cecil the lion illuminated the corruption and cruelty of trophy hunting, and the world has shown a response. But there is more we can do. Sign this petition and start the movement to ban trophy hunting.
