Town Hall Meeting about the Repeal of Affordable Care Act

Nicole MacLaughlin started this petition to Representative Jackie Walorski and

We, the undersigned constituents of Indiana's Second Congressional District, are deeply concerned that Congress and the President are rushing to repeal the Affordable Care Act without responsibly identifying replacement coverage or communicating with the affected citizens. We ask Congresswoman Walorski to come back to the district and hold a meeting to provide information and hear concerns from her constituents before voting to repeal the ACA. This law  has ensured insurance coverage for thousands of otherwise uninsured families and citizens in Indiana and provided crucial protections such as no lifetime maximums, a ban on pre-existing condition limitations, and required coverage for preventive care and for adult children. It expanded Medicaid to cover hundreds of thousands more low-income Indianans.  It took many years to develop, pass, and implement the ACA, and increasing numbers of 2nd District citizens benefit from its coverage each year.

Because many millions of people will be affected if the ACA is repealed, it is only fitting that our representative in Congress meet face to face with us, to explain her precise position, outline her alternative to the ACA, and  hear our concerns. Please do the fair thing and meet with us BEFORE you take away our benefits, Congresswoman Walorski.
