VA nurses requests payroll accountability.

PROBLEM: The nurses of the Washington DC Veterans Medical Center are receiving letters of indebtedness from DFAS for large amounts of money dating from 2010 to 2016 due to an inaccurate payroll system and unaccountability. The timekeepers are people that have been tasked from other jobs such as clerks and have no accountability or professional training.
SUGGESTED SOLUTION - We are requesting our congressmen to direct the General Accountability Office (an independent office) to conduct an audit of our old payroll system by which we were given these letters of indebtedness.
Specifically we would like them to validate or invalidate the debts by comparing the paper copies of our timesheets to the time entered in the computer by the timekeepers. We know for a fact that the time entered into the computer was moved around to achieve the "correct balance" and is different than the actual time and days worked.
We are also requesting that the DCVAMC be compelled to hire professionally trained timekeepers dedicated to that position only.
We are also requesting that the DCVAMC be directed to develop a more accurate timekeeping system such as a punch in/out system that will accurately reflect the time we work as we often stay over without getting paid.
