As a survivor of domestic violence, I have been working for the past eight years as an advocate for domestic violence victims.  I have been a voice for the voiceless. The laws are not setup to help as they allow the perpetrators to make bail and finish what he started.  Resulting in the death of a woman and her children.  We MUST have better laws in place.  Help us, help them!

o    On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. For one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.1
1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence; intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc.

o    21 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical violence by an intimate partner.  Domestic violence or Intimate Partner Violence does not just affect women, but men, children, every color, every race, every ethnicity, those in our military, and we must be transparent.
