Currently a bill is making its rounds through congress regarding the issue of online privacy and freedom of speech. This bill, if passed, will allow the government and all law enforcement agencies to read all messages you send. Whether it be on social media platforms such as Snap chat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Along with SMS and RCS messages. If the companies that hosts these messages refuse to turn them over to the government, they will be sued into bankruptcy.Another problem arises in the restriction of encryption that the bill will create. Without encryption it becomes extremely easy for hackers to steal your personal information ( Banking info, social media accounts, etc). This bill is a blatant destruction of our online freedom of speech. It has to be stopped. We cannot let the government censor our freedom of speech.
