The residents of South Lake Tahoe are demanding an immediate independent investigation into the Caldor fire and the possibility of negligence in its prevention.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, or the TRPA, has collected more than 4 MILLION (known) dollars in fines from local people and businesses. 

The TRPA claims the following:

“Top priorities include major transporta­tion and community revitalization projects, reducing wildfire risk and improving forest health at a faster pace on a landscape scale,…”

If the top priorities of the TRPA were really to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health, we would not currently have over 35,000 displaced residents.

The TRPA has made it impossible and even criminal for tax paying locals and businesses to keep the Lake Tahoe basin and surrounding forests clean from dead vegetation and debris.

Their rules and regulations have contributed the very thing that they claim to be preventing.

The public is demanding accountability, transparency, and a full investigation into what or who started the Caldor fire and the TRPA’s involvement in endangering the residents, wildlife and land for the last 20+ years.

Additionally, TRPA board members need to be disbanded and re-elected to give the locals increased confidence that this will not happen again.
