Proposal for a new law to stop the use of unlawful excessive force by police officers.

It is unlawful for a state, or local police officer to use unlawful excessive force that will violate any person's constitutional rights.

When any person in the United States breaks the law. That person who breaks the law is apprehended, taken to jail, taken to court, and punished by a fine, imprisoned, or both.

The same punishment should be given to an officer that breaks the law. But police officers have immunity against a lot of laws.

Washingtonpost.com- 1,028 people have been shot and killed by police in the past year. 1,004 people were shot and killed by police in 2019.

Sadly, the trend of fatal police shootings in the United States seems to only be increasing, with a total of 228 civilians having been shot, 31 of whom were Black, as of March 30, 2020.


Proposal for a new state law:

When a local police officer or state officer use unlawful use of excessive force that leads to death. The officer will be under serious investigation. The investigation is paid for by the state in which the death occurred. All immunity will be taken away from that officer, until the completion of the investigation. If the investigation finds that the officer unlawfully used excessive force that causes a person to die and violated constitutional rights, that officer will be fined and imprisoned with a sentence of 10 years to life.
