As students in the current global situation, we have been at an all time high for stress levels. When the pandemic originally started we were pulled from school and we were given very light course loads as to not be overly stressful. However as time went on and we started the new school year this was not the same situation.

This school year many of us have been sent back to school in person without a choice in the matter. Others of us have been doing online classes through our school which are also extremely stressful. This leaves many of us hoping that we aren’t going to give COVID-19 to our family or friends and the rest of us scared for ourselves or our friends. 

Our goal is to lower the stress levels of American students by limited testing and implementing more lenient schedules and due dates. This could be achieved by eliminating state standardized testing, as well as all other unnecessary testing. In addition to that it would be beneficial to allow students a more lenient time schedule to allow us, the students, to finish assignments on our own time. This includes in person students who are very often on a stricter schedule with their work as they don’t have the ability to turn it in after school.
