Congress: Tax pollution–not middle class families

Congress is currently driving towards a tax reform package that will grant big cuts to the wealthy and to major corporations while slashing the deductions that middle class families depend upon. That’s a bad deal, and there is a better way.
Tax reform that ensures a “simpler and fairer system” that grows the economy is what the powerful Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch said he was after this summer. We agree that America could benefit from a simpler and fairer tax code. But what we’ve seen from Congress just doesn’t cut it.
There’s still a chance to make American industry more competitive with a “simpler and fairer” tax system. How could Congress do it? Simple. Tax what we want less of - carbon pollution - and use the royalties to give middle class families a real tax cut. Sign this petition now to tell Congress: tax pollution, not you and your family!
This petition will be delivered to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, as well as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell - two Senators crucial to action on this issue.
Please support the movement to promote growth and protect the environment by asking Congress to favor carbon pricing policy and tax big polluters and not the middle class. Sign here to tell Congress you want more money in your pocket and less pollution in your atmosphere.
