Protect Our Democracy from a Possible Trump Insurrection

Urge Congress to put America first by issuing a non-binding resolution that would put Donald J. Trump on notice that no election tampering nor subversion of justice aimed at his continuance in office will be tolerated.

Donald J. Trump has proven time and again that he will obfuscate, lie, abuse his position, hide behind the clamor of his sycophants, and stoop to every indignity to escape justice and remain in power. State now unequivocally to both Donald Trump and his minions – “No!”

Trump seeks an unprecedented level of executive power unheard-of in the history of our Nation, and this may enable him to remain in power indefinitely. By molesting the election process—whether by calling legitimate election results “fake news,” brokering favors from foreign powers again, declaring a fake national emergency that would derail or postpone our national election, or other methods—Trump could cripple the foundations of our Democracy.

Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen attested under oath, “Trump won’t peacefully give up the White House if he loses the 2020 election.” Donny Deutsch, a man who has known Trump for 20 years, stated, “we will not have a peaceful transition…I think we’re headed for a very ugly time in American history.” This reality couldn’t be more evident than the tweet by Jerry Falwell Jr.: “Trump should have 2 yrs added to his 1st term as pay back for time stolen by this corrupt failed coup.” Trump was so enamored by the concept of stealing more time in the White House from the American people that he retweeted it. This paints a very alarming picture of a dangerous man America thought it knew. It is evident that America is burdened with an unhinged chief executive who will cling to power at all costs, robbing the American people of our right to elect a morally fit, temperamentally and intellectually sound individual for the office of President.

Tell Congress to Hold Trump Accountable to the People and Force Him to Respect Our Election Process
