Why this petition matters

Started by Diatra Mason

Please join us in petitioning Congress to intervene on behalf of the people of Panjshir Province, Afghanistan. They are courageously fighting the barbaric Taliban invaders without any external support. They are fighting for a self-governed Afghanistan where all souls are respected. They are fighting, alongside the women, for the inherent right to pursue education, work, and personal happiness. They are fighting for the rights of young Afghan boys and girls not to be taken from their homes and forced into sexual slavery.

They Afghan people deserve a fair fight. We ask only that you raise your voice to Congress and let our leaders know that we expect them to hold Pakistan accountable for the surveillance, intelligence, and drone support they are providing to the Taliban. Tell our leaders that we expect them to support the Afghan people who are fighting a common enemy, the same enemy that killed over 2500 or our soldiers and physically and psychologically scarred thousands of others. The same enemy that harbored the terrorist group that attacked America on 9/11.

Let our leaders know that we have a moral obligation, both to our military and their allies, to not let their sacrifices be in vain. Join us in telling them that we have a moral obligation to the Afghan people that trusted us.
