Take Your Place in the Fight to End Hunger Now
Hunger in America is a solvable problem if we work together to ensure that the programs that keep people from going hungry are adequately funded and protected. With 50 million Americans struggling with hunger in our nation, it is more important than ever to strengthen and protect anti-hunger safety net programs like SNAP that are the first line of defense for hungry Americans.
Congress is writing a farm bill right now that includes up to $21 billion in cuts to SNAP. They need to hear from you.
It is up to you to tell your Members of Congress you want them to make ending hunger a National priority now.
I believe that hunger is a problem that can be solved. Today, fifty million Americans struggle to keep hunger at bay. I urge Congress and President Obama to work together to end this national disgrace. Millions of Americans skip meals so their children can eat, and have to choose between buying food and heating their homes or going to the doctor – choices that no person should have to make.
I believe we can end hunger in America. I urge you to support efforts to restore cuts to the program and to vigorously oppose any proposals that cut SNAP. Only when families have access to the most basic nutritional needs can we begin to tackle the larger issues that lead to hunger and poverty in this country.
As a constituent and a voter, I plan to stay informed about how you and your colleagues address hunger in the United States.
