Don't pass S.O.P.A.

The Issue

The Stop Online Piracy Act, or SOPA, is an extreme bill with the power to make any website accused of enabling copyright infringement disappear by barring online advertising networks and payment facilitators such as PayPal from doing business with the allegedly infringing website, barring search engines from linking to such sites, and requiring Internet service providers to block access to such sites. Users who upload copyrighted content to sites such as YouTube could potentially be held criminally liable themselves. This bill, which will cripple the internet and infringes on First Amendment rights, must not be allowed to pass.
