Declare August 18th a national holiday, Susan B Anthony Day

Our ten national holidays often celebrate men and their accomplishments. Not a one celebrates women, or a woman. That gives the appearance of inequity, putting men in a bad light. If the 83% male Congress establishes Susan B Anthony Day, it will help to correct that.

When this nation was founded only a minority could legally vote. Ida Husted Harper wrote, "Miss Anthony alone dared say what others only dared think, and thus through all the years made herself the target for criticism, blame and abuse. Others escaped through their cowardice; she suffered through her bravery."

Susan B Anthony moved this nation closer to democracy than any other American in our history. Echo her words, "Failure is impossible."
