Every summer the amount of fireworks flowing onto our city streets increases.  Cities have become zones filled with sleep deprived citizens, terrified pets and wildlife, multitudes of PTSD triggered veterans, and rampant lawless behavior. This is not even to mention the physical damage to the people igniting the fireworks. 

The primary source of fireworks in the United States is China.  Chinese fireworks have become so cheap that nearly everyone interested can afford to purchase large volumes of these explosives and continue their peace disruptions for the entirety of the summer.  The Independence Day weekend has become a non-stop three day blast fest in some places with explosions that rival the volume created by dynamite.  I call upon Congress and President Biden to impose a 100% or more tariff on all fireworks entering the country and a much stricter federal license to sell them.
