Congress Pay for Government Shutdown with their annual Salaries

0 have signed. Let’s get to 25,000!

Congress has failed to once again fund the Unites States Government by holding the budget as a political tactic. As such, all members of Congress (100 Senators and 435 representatives in the House) should forego their entire annual salary (minimum of $174,000 each, totaling over $90 million) for the entirety of the fiscal year that they fail to fund. The fiscal year which is not fully funded appropriately and prior to its start,  no continual resolutions qualify, will be the fiscal year the congressmen and congresswomen will forego their salaries. The federal workers who are affected by a shut down shall be paid with these funds. Left over funds will be utilized in an effective and efficient manner by funding government programs that would also be affected by a shut down.
