June 15th 2022 marks a decade from the day the DACA executive branch memorandum was announced. August 15th of this year will mark a decade when applications for the program started being accepted by USCIS. While the subject of DACA has appeared during political campaigns as a pawn to entice those with interest in or against the subject, it has been a topic that has fallen through the cracks and swept under the rug with no light at the end of the tunnel for many of us. Many of us fallen victim to the fragile comfort DACA has brought. It is only when DACA is being bargained in exchange of other immigration policy proposals that we, recipients, get a reminder of how vulnerable DACA is. Almost 10 years, and yet we wait with uncertainty of what is to come or will be. It's time to end this wait with no political theatrics and solidify that what we already have been this last decade. Teachers, police officers, nurses, doctors, plumbers, neighbors... Citizens who haven't been granted the right to call themselves that. This year let's challenge those in power to bring light what should be done and give DACA recipients what they deserve with no ifs, ands, or buts. 2022 is our year.

Help bring attention to a topic that will not only benefit one individual but benefit the United States of America as a whole.
