Congolese Letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Congolese elected officials from the province of South Kivu sent a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her visit to the Congo in August 2009. The letter recommended the optimum way for the United States and the international community to be engaged in the Congo. It calls for the United States to change the manner in which it has operated in Congo and the Great Lakes Region. In light of the recent gang rape of nearly 200  Congolese women, this letter from the Congolese people is even more urgent.

Let Secretary of State Clinton, President Obama and the US Congress know that you want action now in line with what Congolese have been calling for over a decade.
