I like to think that I am not the only one that considers congestion charge, along with the latest ULEZ charge and the 100s of other scams related to drivers a rip off.

Just because you or a person drives does not automatically cover them to be financially well off. How or why we have allowed the government to constantly swindle us, I do not know. However I do know that it needs to stop.

Especially during a time like this. People are feeling the repercussions of inflation more than ever and having a minimum of 14-28 days to pay off a debt that none of us actually signed or agreed to is just absurd.

Some people are on benefits, some are paid monthly and being hit with a 14 day period especially when it falls a week or a several days before pay day can be devastating.

We are all feeling the squeeze and we should not have to prioritise over putting food on the table to paying an unaffordable bigger fine or worse loosing what may be the family's main sole use of transport.

I am asking the mayor and our prime minister to abolish the '14 day' period scheme along with the ULEZ charge and to revert back to the old hours of congestion charge where it used to be free on weekends and ran between 7:00 -18:00 Monday to Friday.
