A charity committee currently runs and funds the local playground. They have been seeking lottery funding for a new playground to replace the ancient and crumbling one currently in place. They were on the verge of winning a grant, but fell at the last hurdle when it was discovered there was a discrepancy in land ownership. This is because the Parish Council failed to legally confirm this in the past despite many times rasing the issue in meetings. Up to 3k is needed to pay a solicitor to sort this out once and for all. The parish council say they have no money. The charity committee won't/can't pay it either. Therefore they have closed the park and no one can use it. We are in stale mate. Children are being used as pawns in a political battle between grown ups. Oddly, the village bowls green is very well funded and looked after, which I think is great, but let's also give the future of our village - the children something to enjoy.
