EDIT: This edit reflects that editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit, Adam Rapoport, pictured in brownface above has stepped down. This petition now calls on Matt Duckor to step aside or be removed as "video guy" of Bon Appetit and head of programming at Conde Nast. As the "video guy" of Bon Appetit and head of programming Matt Duckor was the architect of a predatory and discriminatory system that paid white editors at Bon Appetit for their video work, while their nonwhite editors received nothing. Conde Nast must commit to putting black, indigenous, and people of color in executive, editor, and on-camera positions at Bon Appetit. Conde Nast must replace both Adam Rapoport and Matt Duckor with BIPOC. Further, the editor-in-chief position should go to a woman from the BIPOC community. Conde Nast must fairly pay their nonwhite editors for the work that they do at Bon Appetit both on and off camera, and give them the same opportunities and career development as their white counterparts and feature black, indigenous, and people of color chefs, restaurants, and recipes. 

Editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit, Adam Rapoport, has failed the black, indigenous, and people of color communities and has allowed Bon Appetit to be a largely white food magazine and feature mostly white chefs, restaurants, and recipes. Adam Rapoport himself has engaged in brown face. Bon Appetit only pays its white editors and does not pay its BIPOC at all for their on-camera work. 

For these reasons, we call on Adam Rapoport to step down or be removed from the office of editor-in-chief of Bon Appetit and replace him with a woman from a black, indigenous, or person of color identity. Bon Appetit must commit to featuring nonwhite chefs, restaurants, and recipes.
