Include mental health initiatives in the school curriculum at Concordia
Amid the recent suicide case on campus at Concordia, it has become a clear topic of concern that university students are suffering from mental health issues, related to depression and anxiety. While the university offers some assistance in mental health struggles, the resources are often inaccessible, or inefficient for many. We need to do better for our community. This petition is to demand an obiligatory or optional 1 hour per week dedicated to a form of mental health initiative for students, included in their respective school schedules according to each person’s availabilities. This may include meditation, yoga, counselling, etc. We pay thousands of dollars in tuition fees and for services, yet we are not receiving all that we need to succeed. Let’s change that and prevent future tragedies.
