Concerned Women for America of Georgia pushed to kill Georgia House Bill 630. This bill would have offered employee protection from discrimination due to sexual orientation in regards to public officers and employees. Not only did Concerned Women for America of Georgia help table this bill their director insulted LGBT citizens across the state. Concerned Women for America of Georgia state director Tanya Ditty during testimony compared LGBT individuals to pedophiles and other criminals. Please send a message to Concerned Women for America of Georgia requesting them to stop their attacks on LGBT rights in the state of Georgia and ultimately move their organization towards a more tolerant perspective.
Concerned Women for America of Georgia,
Your group pushed for the tabling of Georgia House Bill 630. This bill attempted "to amend Title 45 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to public officers and employees, so as to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in certain circumstances; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes" (Georgia General Assembly). This bill ultimately was tabled but not after undue pressure by Concerned Women of America in Georgia attacking Georgia Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender citizens.
Concerned Women for America of Georgia's state director Tanya Ditty during testimony compared LGBT people to pedophiles and criminals. Concerned Women of America of Georgia please realize that LGBT citizens deserve equal protections under law. That LGBT people are not pedophiles or criminals. Furthermore please desist all anti-gay rhetoric and move your group towards a more tolerant view of the LGBT community.
