Change BHS Homecoming Date

Booker High School was recently plagued by Hurricane Irma and it has forced us to reschedule our homecoming night. Due to the change in date many of us students were not given enough notice and must request the date off work but many of us won't be able to so I propose that we move Homecoming to November 4th. The student government has no say in date changing or most events so why do we even have them. This is our chance to stop the faculty from stepping all over us, for many faculty members this is just a job and they don't care about us, but there are a few teachers and faculty members that treat this more than a job and really connect with their students and those that do know who they are. We are more than just a pay check and deserve to have our voices heard. The current date for homecoming will interfere with our beloved holiday Halloween (and all the mischief and fun that goes along with it) because the following Monday will be senior night. So, in short I propose that we move the Homecoming dance date to the 4rd of November or take a school wide vote on the change of the date to prevent any interference with Halloween parties, events and or activities. So now I ask you, stand with me, rise up and don't let your voice be beaten down by the faculty. Join me and fight for your voice to be heard!...
