Concerned Parents of Santo Nino Regional Catholic School started this petition to Concerned parents and community members of Santo Nino Regional Catholic School

We, the undersigned Parents and community members of Santo Nino Regional Catholic School, have composed this letter to express our dissatisfaction with current Principal Mrs. Robin Chavez.

This letter is an expression of our “Vote of No Confidence” in Mrs. Chavez and her ability to run our school with fidelity, honesty, consistent and transparent communication and a child first mindset.  We understand the severity of this decision and did not arrive at it hastily.

Santo Nino Regional Catholic School has always been a school to be proud of, one where decisions were made on a collaborative basis with the best interest of our students in mind.  Santo Nino has had a difficult history within the last 5 years of having a reliable, consistent and strong leader. Our school’s name has been drug through the mud, something we had prayed would turn around. However, with poor decisions made by Robin Chavez, we are now facing another uphill battle to save our precious school that we chose and pay for our children to attend.

Throughout the past school year we have had concerns regarding Mrs. Chavez’s leadership specifically regarding trust, communication, collaboration, decision making, vision, and her lack of respect for parents. This arises from a continuous series of negative and harmful experiences and interactions with Robin Chavez.  Over the course of the last several months a common narrative has emerged, one that centers on deceit, lack of human resource policy and procedures, lack of following the current HR policy and procedures that are in place, and lack of communication with school parents and community member, which has ultimately resulted in the allegations of a child being molested by a former school employee, while he was employed by Santo Nino Regional Catholic School.

Our school community is shocked, disheartened and disappointed with the lack of communication, compromising decision making, and dismissiveness by Mrs. Robin Chavez. This lack of communication has ultimately left our community members feeling that our children are not safe in the one place they should feel safe, school.

Many parents have requested a full disclosure meeting with Mrs. Chavez, Superintendent Susan Murphy and Fa. John Cannon. All parents who requested a group meeting have been turned down. Why? We have many questions and demand answers. Because Mrs. Chavez has denied a formal full disclosure meeting with the entire school community, we are formally requesting one with the Pastoral Council and all Archdiocese employees who had knowledge of April 2021 allegations.

We are requesting parents and community members sign this petition to support, but not limited to the following:

1. A full disclosure meeting with Pastoral Council and all Archdiocese employees who had knowledge of April 2021 allegations.

2. Immediate firing of Robin Chavez.

3. A full investigation into how Robert Apodaca was hired.

4. A full investigation into Mrs. Chavez's prior knowledge of previous allegations against Robert Apodaca.

5. A full investigation into who told Robin Chavez not to call law enforcement.
