Save our St. John Ambulance Junior and Cadet Programs (age 6 - 13)

As of June 30th, 2019 Ontario Council will close down the junior program and only allow recruitment and membership into the new SJA Connect youth program starting at age 14.  Only 11, 12 and 13 year old members will be grandfather into this new version St. John Ambulance Youth.

Many youth leaders and long time members have already expressed that they were not consulted on this decision.

Tell Council not to abandon our youth members!

I know the impact the youth program has.  I was a 12 years old cadet when I joined.  Weekly meeting gave me new friends, strong leaders and self confidence.  As a teenager it gave me responsibility as an NCO and first-aider.

These years helped shape who I am as a person today.  It made me a Paramedic, a member of the Order and most importantly a Unit Coordinator.  I wanted to make sure every youth had the same opportunity for growth and development that I had.

It made me feel like I belonged to something of great importance.

We need to tell Council that it is not OK to forget about youth age 6 to 14.

Juniors and Cadets have value and we value them.

We want to lead them.  We are leading them.  Let us continue to lead them.

Give us your voice.  Tell us your story about St. John Ambulance Youth and send it to

Please show your support for our Junior and Cadet programs by signing this petition.
