Stop RTE News blackout on Doctors concerns over abortion legislation

This petition made change with 1,472 supporters!

Despite the fact that 600 Doctors have signed a recent petition raising serious concerns about the Irish government's abortion legislation, this has gone unreported by the national news channel, RTE. It is almost incredulous that given the hugely important impact of changes to the proposed abortion legislation and how they will affect future patient-doctor relationships in respect of the provision of health care, the general public have not been made aware of this latest development.  The Irish public expects the media to report the news in a timely, balanced and impartial manner that is indicative of a free democracy which also includes freedom of the press. This includes any news stories that are important to the public interest in order to maintain an informed public opinion and balanced debate around the abortion issue. It is therefore essential that these important concerns of frontline doctors employed in the Irish health service should be reported in full.
