Your immediate help is needed – Call for action!
For the past 6 years, I have been working very hard to make a positive change by establishing a proposal that allows nonhuman primates to safely retire in a primate sanctuary at the end of their studies. Finally! The retirement proposal I submitted has been approved, but the research institution (located in Massachusetts) will not provide the funding for the retirement of 2 research monkeys that have been waiting for many years for this moment.
You may be asking yourself why I did this. It’s because I love these animals and honor them for their contributions to our well-being. They have lost so much for us and they deserve to have the rest of their lives back! They inspired me every day and taught me many things, making me a better person. They are very special souls and you would fight for them too if you knew them.
These animals have contributed to science for 15 years! Bohr is 23 years old and Lio is about 12. They have been vital to the advancement of our knowledge about the brain regions affected by Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and several other neurological disorders. These diseases affect thousands of our loved ones each year!! We all owe these beautiful animals an opportunity to live the rest of their lives in tranquility, with sun on their faces and grass beneath their feet.
It took 6 years to get approval to retire my monkeys and I have now been given until the end of THIS MONTH (January 2019) to raise the funds required to support their lifetime care. We have been able to raise $10,000 in the past 2 months through several fundraising efforts and we need your help to raise another $40,000!!!
Ensuring that they can live out their natural life span is the least we can do to thank them for all they have lost for us and our loved ones!
$40,000 is a lot of money, but even small donations will move us closer to our goal – and their freedom. Together, we can do this!!!! Please help me help them. We are running out of time. I appreciate your support.
