Hello everyone!!

I am Gauri Raheja a 14 year old student from Gurgaon.

I am starting this petition to stop child labour that is still there in many areas.Just saying "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" doesn't mean that you are on the right path prove it. The problem is poverty due to poverty the poor families have to send there little kids to work. Isn't this unfair. Even the educated people don't understand it's a crime.It's dangerous work that exceeds reasonable hours and interferes with a child's education. Child labourers are vulnerable to abuse, and their families are often trapped in a cycle of poverty. In extreme cases, children are forced to work under threat of violence or death. The poor families think that sending their young kids to work would get them money but they don't understand that if their children get educated they would earn ten times the more money and become and asset and contribute in the national economy when they grow up.The Government is trying to stop this but what are we doing? Just sitting wondering oh that person has bought a child for household work it shouldn't be done but it's okay if I inform the police it would put a bad impression on the society. This is the thinking that has to be changed.Educate children instead of pushing them into work. Educate the children in your areas who cannot afford schools. There are so many private schools also who give education for just Rs.50. Instead of buying 10 pair of clothes each month provide support to poor families. I hope you all would understand what I meant to say and take a step forward to stop child labour. People say "be the change you want to see" but I would say "Change your thinking this will automatically change the world and make it a better place to live in."
