We were looking forward to not having to pay rent...we understood the property isn't ours and that a fee needs to be paid for up keep. However since purchasing our mobile home in 2012 pad rent has increased 3 times! Once it was twice in a year!! It is becoming difficult to live again..we were looking forward to saving $$ by not paying rent and we have not been able to as pad rent keeps increasing

The charges are getting absolutely out of control. Seniors can't even afford to stay in their own mobiles anymore. Get real people. Stop this inhumane greed!!!!!

It is difficult to keep a budget when lot rents increase by $20 / month each year when wages remain the same and level of service does not increase from the Park. They (Northland Park/ Realty 6000) claim the infrastructure (plumbing/water) is too old for the roads to be paved (will break from compactor) however they make no attempts to upgrade. When you count around 100 trailers paying at least $370 (senior rate) per month their revenues are over $444,000 - I would like to see where this money goes!

Buying a mobile home in a park worked out to be $50/month less expensive than renting in Whitehorse, even after pad rent, mortgage, insurance, heating oil, and utilities. Unfortunately, in September the pad rent will have been raised twice since I purchased the trailer in 2014, putting me right back where I was before. Only now I have the weight of the mortgage and the knowledge that I could be evicted from the park. There is a shortage of affordable housing options in Whitehorse, and unregulated pad rent increases do not help that situation at all.

I currently own a mobile in Faro where the rental pad w/water/sewer and garbage pick up are included for about $355.00 quarterly. The last 7 years in this mobile, has afforded me to make an offer on a home with land.
