Walking track between Peregian Breeze and the Peregian shopping precinct via National Park

In light of the recent fires that passed through the Noose National Park Emu Swamp Section, we would like the Noosa Council to take advantage of the reduced shrub and bush density and provide a walking track between the Peregian Breeze estate and the Peregian Beach Shops.

The path could start near Peregian Breeze Drive where there is already an existing path crossing over the creek, and work it’s way to South of the IGA, giving residents access to the shops and also to Peregian beachfront, in under 2km.

Advantages would be:

A benefit to local businesses, for example more people opting to walk to Peregian Beach for shopping rather than the alternative of driving to other shops.

A happier and healthier community.

Reduced traffic and parking congestion in Peregian Beach.

Currently there are no footpaths along the roads connecting Peregian Breeze to Peregian Beach, a walking track will be the first safe connection for pedestrians.

Creating and maintaining the path would create local work particularly if contracted to a local organisation.
