The Bloomsburg Area School District has not been transparent with parents about weekly COVID case counts (as published on our district website). As many of us know, a recent COVID outbreak has taken place among our secondary complex students. Students and staff alike are testing positive yet our case count numbers remain at zero. Each time our case counts reach a number where the school needs to be deep cleaned, those numbers are reported before a long weekend for a holiday or snow days coincidentally. Per their policies on their district website, case counts should be updated and secondary tracing completed for all students possibly exposed. It is apparent their own policies are not being followed putting our community at risk further during this pandemic. Donald Wheeler has shown a lack of integrity of reporting case counts and following through with a one call message to keep parents apprised of the COVID cases. Our ability as parents to make informed decisions for our children has been compromised greatly by this lack of communication. We are calling for an investigation into these matters immediately.
