Denim Day History: In 1999 there was an international protest over an Italian Supreme Court decision to overturn a rape conviction because the victim was wearing jeans. It was stated that, “Jeans cannot be removed without help from the person wearing them, which would be impossible if the victim was struggling with all of their might..”

This April - during Sexual Assault Awareness Month - join us in wearing jeans for a purpose on Wednesday April 28th! Wearing jeans on Denim Day makes a statement that what someone chooses to wear NEVER  serves as consent! We also wear jeans to dispel the myth that if someone just fought hard enough they could stop sexual assault. The truth is, there is no set way for people to react and it is never our place to judge.
