The neighbors surrounding Strathmore Avenue are asking the State Highway Administration to prioritize the construction of sidewalks from Garrett Park to MD 355.  Currently, pedestrians walk from Metro/Rockville Pike to Garrett Park along the Strathmore Avenue shoulder.  The proposed project has been in the planning stage for years. Meanwhile, the traffic on Strathmore Ave. (Route 547) is getting much more congested and presents increased hazards for pedestrians, including the school children who attend the three schools situated on the Strathmore Avenue corridor (Garrett Park Elementary, Holy Cross School and the Academy of the Holy Cross).  Please sign this petition, which will be submitted to the State Highway Administration.
